He came from a Dallas area shelter so, of course, he was named JR. His past life wasn’t so good, we discovered when x-raying him that his left rear leg had been broken. He could have been kicked or even hit by a car. He wasn’t given any medical treatment for it and it healed on its own. His back leg is a bit shorter than his other legs — but he doesn’t know that. Poor guy, but his life will be so much better now.CRLF
\nHe is very, very active for a basset and loves to run and play and play and run. He plays a bit too hard for toddlers so we would recommend a home with older children. JR needs some training as his play can get a bit mouthy. He hasn’t been around others dogs since coming to HHBR as he had kennel cough and had to be kept separate.
\nFor more pictures, visit the HHBR Gallery<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
JR is a neutered male, ~ 2 years old and weighs in at 42 lbs. and is up-to-date on his vaccinations.
